Digital Wildlife Location Map™ by ECO Mapping™
This is a unique digital wall map of the reserve on a 20” or 40” plasma touch screen which we put up at main reception. Field guides download from their PDA the wildlife sightings and field data after game drives into the user-friendly computer.
CyberTracker and ECO Mapping takes care of the rest! Tourists only see the map on the plasma screen. Next to the map is a list of all the wildlife in the reserve. The tourist merely presses the button next to the animal they want to go and see and a colour circle goes on in the map area where the last sighting of that animal was. This makes it easy for tourists and guides to see where a last sighting was and how to get there on the map.
Tourists can also view places of interest on this digital map as it is shown in the info guide booklet!
By implementing GPS reference points, tourists and guides can also make use of our DVD system or their own GPS. By linking this digital map with the reserves database computer, it also creates territory spreading of the specific wildlife and keep sightings in the archive.
